3CR12 is a new type of weldable low-carbon ferritic stainless steel developed by the Columbus Plant in South Africa in the 1980s. The main feature of the product is to ensure a certain degree of wear resistance under humid environmental conditions. The welding performance of thicker products is improved, but the surface finish and color processing are difficult. Due to the rich mineral resources in South Africa, this steel type is very suitable for underground hot and humid environments. It is used to make funnels and chains for mines and mine equipment. This product is used to make power transmission and transformation towers in coastal areas. The service life can be extended to more than 20 years. It can also be made. 3CR12 is often used to replace coated carbon steel, weathering steel and aluminum. Offers the advantages of ferritic stainless steel such as strength, corrosion and wear resistance, weldable, formable, very durable, allowing for lower maintenance.
The initial application field of 3CR12 stainless steel was in the corrosion/friction environment and was limited to the processing and manufacturing of underground mine operating equipment. Currently, international standards can also be used in the following fields:
1. Coal and non-ferrous metal mining and processing equipment.
2. Sugar processing equipment.
3. Bulk coal and iron ore transportation equipment.
4. Frames, chassis, bases and frames of buses, passenger vehicles and long-distance buses.
5. Rail fences and guardrails, etc.
Especially can used in bumper car playground use 3CR12 steel plates with specifications of 6*1000*2000mm were used instead of carbon steel as the material for the bumper car playground floor. The steel plates were fixed on the ground with bolts. After more than 20 years of use, when inspected , the ground was still bright and smooth, and Bumper car maintenance costs have been reduced by nearly 80%.
